Its incorporation into the Network of Smart Tourist Destinations (DTI), formalized in March 2024, marks a key milestone in the transformation of this region. Thanks to the diagnostic report prepared by SEGITTUR, Ribagorza is firmly advancing towards a tourism model that combines technology, sustainability, accessibility, and innovation.

📍 Where is Ribagorza?

Located in the northeastern part of Huesca, Ribagorza is the largest comarca in the Aragonese Pyrenees. With 34 municipalities and 192 population centers spread across 2,460 km², it boasts impressive natural, cultural, and gastronomic heritage.

    • The Posets-Maladeta Natural Park and the Aneto peak (3,404 m), the highest in the Pyrenees.

This process is supported by the Tourism Sustainability Plan in the Ribagorza Destination, valid until November 2026, positioning the comarca as a national and international reference in smart tourism.

RIBAGORZA, HUELLAS EN LA PIEDRA. Conferencia "Obarra: orígenes, auge y decadencia", por Carles Barrull

El ciclo "Ribagorza. Huellas en la piedra", continúa con la conferencia "Obarra: orígenes, auge y decadencia", a cargo de Carles Barrull.

Carles Barrull Perna es historiador, de Arén/Areny de Noguera. Es el secretario general del CERIb-Centro de Estudios Ribagorzanos, centro colaborador del Instituto de Estudios Altoaragones-Diputación Provincial de Huesca. Trabaja como  técnico en el Institut Ramon Muntaner (IRMU), donde asesora y coordina en temas de patrimonio etnológico y cetros de estudios. Coordina el grupo Pirineos del proyecto “Pobles Abandonats” impulsado por la UAB-IRMU-CCEPC.

Ha editado diferentes libros sobre piedra seca, fiestas del fuego o juegos tradicionales y las actas de los Coloquios Internacionales de Estudios Transpirenaicos.
Ha investigado sobre diferentes aspectos de la comarca ribagorzana como la formación de los diferentes condados, los periodos medieval y moderno, su patrimonio cultural, la II Repíblica, la Guerra Civil, potsguerra y la ENHER. Ha trabajado también en la elaboración de las RutasCAI. Es coordinador de la Sección de Patrimonio Agrario del Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs-Diputación de Lleida.

Será el próximo viernes, 5 de diciembre a las 19.30 horas en el Salón Social de Beranuy.

PROTOCOLO DE COLABORACIÓN ENTRE LA COMARCA DE RIBAGORZA Y LA FEDERACIÓN ARAGONESA DE MONTAÑISMO Y DE LAS SUBVENCIONES OTORGADAS EN EL MARCO DEL PLAN DE SOSTENIBILIDAD TURÍSTICA EN DESTINO

Se ha firmado el protocolo de colaboración entre la Comarca de Ribagorza y la Federación Aragonesa de Montañismo (FAM) para la planificación, mejora y conservación y promoción de los senderos turísticos de Ribagorza y su difusión pública como elemento sustancial de la sostenibilidad del destino turístico de Ribagorza.

Las partes se comprometen en colaborar en el diseño e implementación de una estrategia tendente a impulsar de manera ordenada un proceso de planificación, mejora, conservación y difusión de los senderos turísticos de Ribagorza en la forma en que se acuerde o resulte de los instrumentos jurídicos oportunos para ello, manifestando la pretensión de aunar esfuerzos junto con otras Administraciones Públicas, especialmente, Diputación Provincial de Huesca, Gobierno de Aragón y Ayuntamientos comarcales y/o otras entidades privadas que puedan facilitar y/o participar en el diseño, financiación e implementación de las actuaciones concretas a desarrollar.

La concreción de esta voluntad de colaboración se materializará a través de los instrumentos jurídicos oportunos  en los que se concretarán las actuaciones a realizar por parte de la Comarca de Ribagorza y la Federación Aragonesa de Montañismo.

En aplicación del protocolo, se han otorgado a la FAM subvenciones para la puesta en marcha de dos de las medidas diseñadas en el Plan de Sostenibilidad Turística en Destino de Ribagorza, correspondientes a las medidas 1.6 y 2.3, por importe de 362.455 € y 350.000 € repectivamente, generándose hasta tres rutas de gran recorrido, Vuelta al Turbón, Camino del Ésera y Ruta del Noguera y 13 nuevas rutas, así como el mantenimiento de rutas BTT existentes.

PATRIM 4.0 – Innovation and Sustainability in Pyrenean Heritage Management

The PATRIM 4.0 Project was approved by the Programming Committee of the INTERREG VI-A Spain-France-Andorra (POCTEFA) 2021-2027 Program on November 30, 2023. With a total budget of €1,364,663, this project will receive 65% funding from the FEDER funds, amounting to €887,030.70.

Project Objective

The main objective of PATRIM 4.0 is to unite entities from both sides of the Pyrenees, forming the Pyrenean Network for Innovation and Creative Cultural Heritage Management. This network aims to become a unifying force for Pyrenean cultural heritage centers by fostering collaboration on joint proposals for knowledge generation and transfer in heritage management.

The project focuses on a collaborative, innovative, and sustainable model of integrating heritage, product, and territory for effective management of the region’s cultural resources.

Key Axes of the Project

The PATRIM 4.0 project is structured around three key axes:

  1. Comprehensive Heritage Management Models in Mountain Territories:
    • This focuses on museums, quality, training, dissemination, and the hybridization of knowledge and cultural heritage in the Pyrenees.
  2. PATRIM 4.0 as a Cultural and Heritage Destination:
    • Initiatives such as Patrim Destinations, the creation of a Pyrenotheque, artist residencies, and traveling exhibitions will be promoted to attract visitors to the region.
  3. PATRIM 4.0 Innovation and Sustainability:
    • The project will promote accessibility, digitalization, experiential tourism, and family tourism, ensuring that the region's heritage is accessible to all.

Specific Actions in the Ribagorza Region

As part of PATRIM 4.0, the Ribagorza Region will carry out specific actions to strengthen its cultural heritage. The following are key actions planned for the region:

  • Upgrading and modernizing the Exhibition Hall at Casa Heredia and the Dinosaur Museum of Arén.
  • Creating a Ribagorza Museum Network, which will foster collaboration among the various cultural centers in the region.
  • Developing a web platform that will host a catalog of Ribagorza’s Performing and Musical Arts, providing visibility for local artists and cultural events.

Participating Entities

The PATRIM 4.0 Project brings together important cultural entities from both sides of the Pyrenees. Some of the key partners include:

  • The Graus Town Council and its Espacio Pirineos.
  • Consorci de l'Ecomuseu de les Valls d'Àneu (Lleida).
  • The Museo de la Cueva de las Brujas (Navarre).
  • The Office de Tourisme de Saint-Lary Soulan (Hautes-Pyrénées).
  • The Communauté de Communes Neste Barousse (Hautes-Pyrénées).

Other participating institutions from Spain and France are also committed to innovating in cultural heritage management.

PLAN DE SOSTENIBILIDAD TURÍSTICA EN DESTINO DE LA COMARCA DE RIBAGORZA. EVALUACION DE LOS RECURSOS TURÍSTICOS DEL PATRIMONIO GASTRONÓMICO DE LA COMARCA.

La Comarca de Ribagorza está diagnosticando y evaluando  los recursos turísticos del patrimonio gastronómico de su territorio

Esta actuación se enmarca dentro del Eje 4 “Competitividad” del Plan de Sostenibilidad Turística en Destino (PSTD) de la Comarca de Ribagorza presentado en la convocatoria extraordinaria de 2022 y financiado dentro del Plan de Recuperación y Resiliencia con fondos Next Generation EU

En estos momentos la Comarca de Ribagorza está elaborando un inventario de los recursos que forman parte del patrimonio gastronómico de su territorio con la finalidad de definir nuevas actuaciones turísticas asociadas a dicho patrimonio gastronómico.

Para ello se parte de la elaboración de una base de datos de los productores agroalimentarios de la Comarca. Se les ha enviado un correo electrónico para poder entrevistarse con ellos y que nos cuenten tanto los productos que elaboran como las actividades turísticas que desarrollan a partir de los mismos (visitas, catas, talleres, etc.).

 

La cultura comprende los modos de vida de una sociedad, sus costumbres, conocimientos, tradiciones y hasta sus anhelos. En el patrimonio cultural de un territorio, la gastronomía juega un papel fundamental y sirve tanto como seña identitaria, como elemento de atracción turística.

Por ello resulta de interés realizar tareas de inventario, análisis y evaluación de los recursos gastronómicos para apoyar el diseño de un producto turístico nuevo y/o la inclusión en una ruta turística que articule los distintos elementos patrimoniales del territorio.

En la Comarca de Ribagorza existe ya una riqueza gastronómica reconocida (trufa, longaniza, queso, chocolate, patata, carne, setas y hongos, etc.), pero, hay que ser consciente que es un territorio que tiene mucho más que mostrar y, sobre todo, que ofrecer.

Los objetivos perseguidos por este estudio son los siguientes:

  • Disponer de una visión de conjunto de los recursos gastronómicos del territorio, tanto los productos, como las personas que pueden ser tractoras del desarrollo turístico en este área, revisando el trabajo realizado hasta el momento.
  • Analizar los objetivos del territorio de manea global el de las diferentes localidades para conseguir una alineación ganadora con los productos gastronómicos.
  • Revisar los productos y servicios turísticos gastronómicos actuales para acompañarlos y definir nuevas propuestas, si fuera necesario.
  • Analizar las actividades realizadas para, partiendo de ellas conseguir los nuevos objetivos.
  • Definir las nuevas actuaciones que podrían desarrollarse para conseguir esos objetivos, analizarlas, sistematizarlas y priorizarlas.

El estudio está siendo realizado por la consultora AV Asesores Estrategia e Innovación SL y coordinado por la especialista Mía Sánchez Guerrero.

Se están elaborando las diferentes fichas de productos, hablando con los productores y dejando constancia de la historia y las tradiciones de los productos, sus variedades, las ferias, las fiestas y los recursos turísticos, etc.

Debemos hablar con el mayor número posible de actores que de una u otra forma configuran el gran escenario gastronómico de nuestro territorio por lo que cualquier interesado en formar parte de las entrevistas, sólo tiene que comunicarse con el área de Turismo de la Comarca.

Las posibilidades del turismo gastronómico en Ribagorza son muy grandes pero hay que dar mayor visibilidad y valor a nuestros productos, creando experiencias turísticas en torno a ello, siendo ese el objetivo perseguido por el estudio.
