The municipality is formed: Estopiñán, Sagant and Caserras del Castillo.
This small town is crowned by a castle, conquered by Ramon Berenguer I between 1058 to 1059. The houses are organized around the side of the castle, with its narrow streets and steep slopes.

The festival is celebrated on August 6, in honor of its patron saint, San Salvador.
On October 12, feast of the Virgen del Pilar, a fair is held.
Access can be through a diversion from the N-230 or via the local road which connects it with Camporrells. Because of its facilities and surroundings, is ideal for lazy days in contact with nature. Ideal for hunting and fishing.
