Marmot
The marmot is a large rodent, plump and heavy body, rounded snout and small ears. Is a typical species subalpine and alpine pastures, and needs areas with abundant food and soils easily excavated. Usually live at altitudes between 1400-2900 meters.
Are animals that live in family groups forming colonies around the burrow and hibernate for at least six months a year (from October to April).
We can observe them in the area of Forau Aiguallut in Natural Park Posets Maladeta.
