The festival of the Fallas is part of the festivities of the fire of San Juan, very common in the mountain towns and widespread in the Pyrenees.

In the Ribagorza the municipalities Sahún, Montanuy and Laspaules have celebrated these festivities uninterruptedly and others such as Aneto, Bonansa, Gabás and Castanesa have re-established it, although in others it disappeared.

The festival is usually on June 23 and 24, although in some towns the date changes. The cycle of the festival begins a month earlier with the beginning of May, when the falleros go to the forests to cut the specimens that will serve to prepare the fallas.

On the 23rd the faults are climbed to the top of the Lighthouse and there a bonfire is lit, the faults are lit and a fire snake is drawn on the side of the mountain, which descends little by little until reaching the town. On arrival you pray from the church bell, you go to the cemetery where you make a sign and finally you return to the town, where they throw the faults at the foot of the large fault, forming an imposing bonfire.

All this festival is seasoned by a set of traditional events, gastronomic tastings of the traditional products of the land and traditional dances, continuing until dawn.
