Glacial cirques
The work of ice over thousands of years has left in our mountains extraordinary glacial cirques, huge amphitheaters such as those of Coronas, Salenques, Tempestades, Barrancs...
Glacial cirques are semicircular depressions with abrupt walls, where snow accumulates and subsequently transforms into ice. They are located in the highest parts of the mountains and when the ice melts the cirques can originate lagoons or ibones.
