Lammergeier

The bearded vulture is the only bird on the planet that feeds bones. Its name comes from the particular technique of breaking the large bones to break up chunks of size suitable for ingestion, which are dropped from the air in rocky areas. It can reach a wingspan of 2.80 m and can weigh up to 7kg.

Their presence is closely linked to mountain areas with cliffs, which they use as nesting habitat.
