Museum of Traditional Games

The Field Museum has two floors: the first is dedicated to the games of children, boys and girls and women and the second games of men. With the game, children develop agility and physical strength, girls exercising manual dexterity playing with sticks, pins, wires, cards, diabolos or pushing a stone with a square foot to another in hopscotch. Verbal and musical elements also have an important place in the girls game, which has rich folklore.

The section devoted to men's game is the most comprehensive, because the greater quantity and variety. They differentiate between games exclusive to the holidays, in which the man shown publicly physical qualities and daily games, hobby in the last afternoon of the day chores completed.

Located in the western city center, in a building that maintains the characteristics of the architecture of the region, the Museum of Traditional Games, by its collection and features, unique in Spain. The result of years of research in every corner of the Spanish geography, the collection includes pieces belonging to about 200 games and sports played by men, women and children in all the autonomous regions of our country, complete with a rich display of old photographs . With an approach that looks equally scientific rigor, general information and aesthetic qualities, exposure can satisfy both the specialist and the curious who approaches these issues first. A specialized library and documentation center on games caters to the demands of researchers.
