At the top of the hill we see the remains of the castle on a rocky seat. The fort is very old, is considered the first documented Castle of Ribagorza´s County.
We found it in an elevated position, it had the functions of vigilance and defense.
Although the castle is almost completely ruined, it is interesting to observe the remains of a necropolis with anthropomorphic tombs above the eleventh century. Archaeologists are currently studying it.
Next to the remains of the castle we see a Romanesque church created the binomial castle-church, very traditional in Aragon.
Directions
Arén Castle is located in the town of the same name. To access it you have to take a path that goes from the village and is reached in about 10 minutes.
